WHAT ABOUT WHAT?

If you've come here looking for more work after visiting our website you're crazy....just kidding, you've come to the right place! This is a place where Mike and I can showcase some of our most recent work--if you're here and the last post is from months ago just remember that our priority is always keeping up with our event editing and getting images to our clients on time! Sadly, the blog, while we love it, doesn't always make it to the top of the to-do list. Rest assured, we'll be back, we always are! In the meantime feel free to get in touch via our contact form!

Another fun Save-The-Date design from a fun mini session we did up in Wells, Maine!  Just so happens my parents have a place up there and Mark grew up in the same town and we could swing it on a day we were all going to be in town anyway and a mini-engagement session was born!  2013-03-31_0002

I always wonder how long I should wait before blogging a favorite design…I never want to ruin the fun of guests opening and seeing cards like these!  So usually I wait long enough that I then forget about how fun and amazing a design it was and the result is they don’t get blogged…well not this time!  I’m still giddy excited about how easy it is to blog now that we have started using Blog Stomp and I’m going to be a blogging machine I tell you!  Aren’t these so cute???  We also just finished up their amazing invitations a few weeks ago–I’ll have to blog those soon too because they’re great!  BTW, their images are from a fun session at the deCordova Museum–perfect since it was rainy rainy outside! 2013-03-31_0001

Just going through a really fun Boston Museum of Science wedding (yay, Debbie and Dave!) for a post and couldn’t resist posting some of their awesome details!  Love the colors!

So…it is embarrassing how long it has been since we blogged…but a busy photographer is not always the best blogger. That’s what I keep telling myself at least!

So…the blog is next on my list of things to start tackling. I just finished culling the last wedding of the season, and I’m working on a couple save-the-dates right now! BUT, while working on one I fell in love with the bride’s color palette and thought I would share it here!

Lately before designing anything we have a few questions that we ask..

We want, of course, the details…the date, the key players (bride and groom and how they want to see their name in print…are you an Anthony, a Tony, a Toni?) The place…do you want people to know that the wedding is in Newport?  Or just Rhode Island?  And, of course, the date will be on there…but we know that since we’re the ones shooting the wedding.

And last, and maybe more important…the feel of the wedding (traditional, modern, fun, quirky), any fonts that you love, and the colors!  Are you loving cherry blossoms?  Cityscape?  And color.  COLOR!  For the colors we’ve been sending brides over to Benjamin Moore and asking for specific color names!  It works like a charm every time!   I normally don’t share Save-the-Dates or Guestbooks because I feel like that might ruin the surprise for those getting them in the mail and/or seeing the guest book at the wedding…so I’m going to leave you hanging., but I can show you this most awesome color pallette that I’m currently working on for a fun summer beachy wedding Save-the-Date on the Cape! The names on each color are from the Benjamin Moore site and I use this palette while designing so that everything is copacetic!

Just went in to pull some images for the next wedding we’ll be blogging, Lindsay and Dave, and I just realized how much I love this shot.  I feel like we’ve been shooting rings for so long that we’ve shot so many flowers and things so it was fun to find something that the rings fit with so perfectly…and Lindsay and Dave definitely exemplify the saying which helps 🙂  Can’t wait to share more images, but for now this one is fun!
